The Boy and the King

Long ago, there was a powerful king who wanted all people to worship him, not Allah. In his kingdom lived a young boy who was very smart and wanted to learn about life. The king sent the boy to study magic, but on his way, the boy met a wise monk who taught him about Allah and true faith.

As the boy grew older, his faith became strong. One day, he helped a blind man see again by making dua to Allah. The news spread fast, and the king became angry. He called the boy and said, "Can you really heal the blind?"

The boy answered, "No, it is not me — it is Allah who heals."

The king wanted the boy to leave his belief, but the boy refused. The king ordered his soldiers to take the boy to the top of a mountain and throw him off. But Allah saved him. Then, the king ordered the boy to be thrown into the sea, but again Allah saved him. Finally, the boy said to the king, "If you want to kill me, gather all the people and shoot me only after you say: ‘In the name of the boy’s Lord.’"

The king followed the boy’s words. In front of all the people, the king shot the boy after saying, "In the name of the boy’s Lord." The boy died, but the people saw his strong faith and believed in Allah. The king was furious and ordered the people to be burned in a big fire pit (the Ukhdud) if they didn’t return to worship him. But the believers stayed strong in their faith.

The king of the forest, a wise old owl, told Leo that the forest was in danger. An evil wizard wanted to cut down all the magic trees. Leo was brave and decided to help. The owl gave him a magic shield and a silver sword to stop the wizard. With courage and kindness, Leo faced the wizard and used the shield to reflect the wizard’s dark magic. The wizard lost his power, and the forest was saved. The owl and all the animals thanked Leo for his bravery.

 One day, the king gave Sidopekso a very important mission. He had to go to a faraway place. Before he left, he said goodbye to Surati. She promised to wait for him and be loyal. Sidopekso was away for many months. When he finished his mission, he returned home. But on the way back, one of his friends told him a terrible lie. “Your wife is not loyal,” the friend said. “While you were gone, she loved another man.” Sidopekso was angry and confused. He could not believe his wife would do that. But he wanted to know the truth. So he made a plan to test her. 

 When he got home, he did not tell Surati what he heard. He watched her carefully. Surati was still kind, gentle, and loving. But Sidopekso was still not sure. One day, he took Surati to the river. He said, “I don’t believe you. I think you lied to me. I think you were not loyal.” Surati was shocked. She cried and said, “I love you. I have always been loyal. If I am lying, throw me into the river. If I am telling the truth, the water will show it.” Sidopekso threw her into the river. 

But something strange happened. The water stayed clear. It smelled fresh and sweet. Then Sidopekso understood — Surati was innocent. She was telling the truth. He cried and said, “Forgive me!” But it was too late. From that day, people called the river Banyuwangi, which means “fragrant water” in the local language. It is a symbol of pure love and truth.

     A long time ago in ancient China, there lived a brave young woman named Hua Mulan. She lived with her elderly parents and loved them very much. One day, the emperor ordered that every family must send one man to join the army and fight against enemies from the north.

     Mulan's father was old and weak, but he was the only man in the family. Mulan knew he would not survive the war.

     To save her father, Mulan made a bold decision. She disguised herself as a man, took her father’s armor and sword, and went to the army in his place, without telling anyone.

    She trained hard, fought bravely, and became a skilled and respected soldier. No one knew she was a woman.

    Mulan and her army faced many battles. In one final great war, the Chinese army was almost defeated. But Mulan came up with a clever strategy. She led her fellow soldiers to victory, saving the emperor and the entire country.

     After the war, the emperor offered her a great reward.

     Mulan refused the riches and titles. She only asked to return home to her family. When her fellow soldiers visited her home later, they were shocked to learn that the brave warrior was actually a woman. They admired her even more.
