    Narrative text merupakan jenis teks yang bertujuan untuk menceritakan sebuah cerita atau kisah. Teks ini sering berfokus pada rangkaian peristiwa yang saling berhubungan, biasanya dengan tokoh-tokoh tertentu yang mengalami konflik atau masalah yang akhirnya menuju penyelesaian. Narrative text dapat berupa fiksi seperti dongeng, legenda, atau cerita pendek, maupun non-fiksi seperti biografi atau cerita sejarah.

Ciri-ciri narrative text meliputi:

  • Orientation: Pengenalan tokoh, setting (waktu dan tempat), dan situasi awal cerita.

    Tujuan utama dari narrative text adalah untuk menghibur pembaca dengan sebuah cerita yang menarik. Selain itu, narrative text juga dapat memiliki tujuan lain, seperti:
